{"id":5707,"date":"2026-03-03T08:52:53","date_gmt":"2026-03-03T08:52:53","guid":{"rendered":"https:\/\/nova.racunovodski-servis.si\/2026\/03\/03\/march-news\/"},"modified":"2026-06-15T12:45:36","modified_gmt":"2026-06-15T12:45:36","slug":"march-news","status":"publish","type":"post","link":"https:\/\/nova.racunovodski-servis.si\/en\/2026\/03\/03\/march-news\/","title":{"rendered":"March news"},"content":{"rendered":"\t\t<div data-elementor-type=\"wp-post\" data-elementor-id=\"5707\" class=\"elementor elementor-5707 elementor-5059\" data-elementor-post-type=\"post\">\n\t\t\t\t\t\t<section class=\"elementor-section elementor-top-section elementor-element elementor-element-e4bd0b7 elementor-section-boxed elementor-section-height-default elementor-section-height-default\" data-id=\"e4bd0b7\" data-element_type=\"section\" data-e-type=\"section\">\n\t\t\t\t\t\t<div class=\"elementor-container elementor-column-gap-default\">\n\t\t\t\t\t<div class=\"elementor-column elementor-col-100 elementor-top-column elementor-element elementor-element-53392c4\" data-id=\"53392c4\" data-element_type=\"column\" data-e-type=\"column\">\n\t\t\t<div class=\"elementor-widget-wrap elementor-element-populated\">\n\t\t\t\t\t\t<div class=\"elementor-element elementor-element-bff63a1 elementor-widget elementor-widget-text-editor\" data-id=\"bff63a1\" data-element_type=\"widget\" data-e-type=\"widget\" data-settings=\"{&quot;wdt_animation_effect&quot;:&quot;none&quot;}\" data-widget_type=\"text-editor.default\">\n\t\t\t\t\t\t\t\t\t<h3><strong><span style=\"color: #b01f24;\">New minimum contribution amounts for 2026<\/span><\/strong><\/h3>\nFor payments from  <strong>1. 3. 2026 to 28 2. 2027<\/strong>  the minimum base for paying contributions is\n<strong>EUR 1,521.62<\/strong>.\n\nPursuant to the fourth paragraph of <strong>Article 144 of ZPIZ-2<\/strong>, the minimum monthly base for calculating contributions\nfrom salary and salary compensation is <strong>60% of the last known average annual salary of employees in the Republic of Slovenia<\/strong>,\nrecalculated on a monthly basis.\n\nFor payments from <strong>1 January up to and including 28 February<\/strong>, the average salary from the year before last is used,\nwhile for payments from <strong>1 March onwards<\/strong>, the average salary from the previous year is used.\n\nThe minimum base for calculating social security contributions for persons in employment therefore amounts to\n<strong>EUR 1,521.62<\/strong>, which represents <strong>60% of the average annual salary of employees in the Republic of Slovenia<\/strong>,\nwhich for 2025 amounts to <strong>EUR 2,536.03<\/strong>.\n<h4><strong>MINIMUM CONTRIBUTIONS FOR A FULL-TIME SOLE PROPRIETORSHIP (S.P.)<\/strong><\/h4>\nThe amount of minimum contributions is determined based on the <strong>average gross salary of the previous year<\/strong>.\nAccording to SURS data, the average monthly gross salary for 2025 was <strong>EUR 2,536.03<\/strong>.\n\nCompared to 2024, it was nominally higher by <strong>5.9%<\/strong> and in real terms by <strong>3.4%<\/strong>.\n\nThe average gross salary in the private sector was higher by <strong>3.9%<\/strong>,\nand in the public sector by <strong>9.4%<\/strong>. The more pronounced growth in the public sector is partly due to\nthe introduction of the revised pay system as of <strong>1 January 2025<\/strong>. \n\nDue to the increase in the average gross salary, the minimum insurance base has also increased and amounts to\n<strong>60% of the average salary<\/strong>, which for 2026 represents <strong>EUR 1,521.62<\/strong>.\n\nOn this basis, the minimum monthly contributions for a full-time sole proprietor in 2026 are expected to amount to approximately  \n<strong>EUR 648.85<\/strong> (in 2025 they amounted to <strong>EUR 614.83<\/strong>).\n\nTotal contributions include contributions for:\n<ul>\n \t<li>pension and disability insurance (<strong>ZPIZ<\/strong>),<\/li>\n \t<li>health insurance (<strong>ZZZS<\/strong>),<\/li>\n \t<li>parental protection,<\/li>\n \t<li>employment,<\/li>\n \t<li>long-term care.<\/li>\n<\/ul>\nThe revised amounts usually take effect when calculating contributions for <strong>February (payment in March)<\/strong>.\n<h4><strong>RELIEF ON PAYMENT OF CONTRIBUTIONS FOR NEWLY ESTABLISHED SOLE PROPRIETORSHIPS (S.P.)<\/strong><\/h4>\nSole proprietors who register an s.p. for the first time in the Business Register of Slovenia may claim  \n<strong>partial exemption from payment of pension and disability insurance (PIZ) contributions<\/strong>.\n\nThe relief applies exclusively to a <strong>full-time s.p.<\/strong> and does not apply to a part-time (&#8220;afternoon&#8221;) s.p. or to other types of contributions.  \n\nIn the first year of operation, the PIZ contribution is reduced by <strong>50%<\/strong>,\nand in the second year of operation by <strong>30%<\/strong>.\n\nThe estimated total monthly contributions in 2026 will amount to:\n<ul>\n \t<li><strong>EUR 463.60<\/strong> for an s.p. in the first year of operation,  <\/li>\n \t<li><strong>EUR 540.74<\/strong> for an s.p. in the second year of operation.  <\/li>\n<\/ul>\nAfter <strong>24 months<\/strong> from the first registration, the right to the relief automatically ceases.\nReclaiming it by closing and reopening an s.p. <strong>is not possible<\/strong>. \n<h4><strong>FLAT-RATE CONTRIBUTIONS FOR A PART-TIME (&#8220;AFTERNOON&#8221;) SOLE PROPRIETORSHIP (S.P.) IN 2026<\/strong><\/h4>\nSole proprietors who carry out their activity alongside regular employment (part-time\/&#8221;afternoon&#8221; s.p.),\nwill be required to pay higher contributions in 2026.\n\nThe basis for calculating flat-rate contributions is the average gross salary for October 2025,\nwhich amounted to <strong>EUR 2,572.07<\/strong>.\n\nFor January, February, and March 2026, the total flat-rate contributions amount to\n<strong>EUR 110.11 per month<\/strong>.\n\nThe PIZ contribution typically changes as of <strong>1 April<\/strong>, when a new decision enters into force.\nAt that time, there is usually an additional, smaller increase, and the final amount applies until the end of the calendar year.\n<br><br><strong>Source:<\/strong>\n<a href=\"https:\/\/www.fu.gov.si\/novica\/najnizja_osnova_za_obracun_prispevkov_za_socialno_varnost_za_osebe_v_delovnem_razmerju_1-16145\/\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noopener\">\nFURS \u2013 Minimum base for calculating contributions\n<\/a>\t\t\t\t\t\t\t\t<\/div>\n\t\t\t\t\t<\/div>\n\t\t<\/div>\n\t\t\t\t\t<\/div>\n\t\t<\/section>\n\t\t\t\t<\/div>\n\t\t","protected":false},"excerpt":{"rendered":"<p>New minimum contribution amounts for 2026 For payments from 1. 3. 2026 to 28 2. 2027 the minimum base for paying contributions is EUR 1,521.62.
